Description
In the course The Internet and Information Seeking in the Information Science program at the University of Iceland, strong emphasis is placed on training students to use artificial intelligence (AI) in a professional and responsible manner. Students gain skills in accessing, evaluating, and using information in an ever-changing environment, with a focus on the practical application of AI in search techniques and text processing, while also developing critical thinking and addressing ethical issues.This presentation will introduce findings from a survey conducted among students in autumn 2024, exploring how they experienced and assessed the use of AI in their studies. In addition to highlighting student perspectives, the presentation will demonstrate how AI was integrated into the teaching itself, with examples of AI tools that were used.
