Icelandic online media law and the ECHR

Abstract

The media environment in Iceland is rather diverse and multiform. There are several national newspapers, of which the biggest is Fréttabladid, delivered free in the capital area six days a week. According to the website Gallup in June 2017, 44.6% of the Icelandic population reads the paper. The second largest newspaper is Morgunbladid, which is available by subscription. It is published daily and read by 25.7% of the population.
