Abstract
Professor John McMurtry (1939-2021) was a Canadian philosopher and iconoclast whose work spanned a wide range of fields, especially including social and political thought, economics, education, media, culture, and value theory. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2001, for his contributions to the arts and humanities, as well as to Canadian public life. In this volume, McMurtry’s students, colleagues, and friends present a collection of original work that builds upon his concepts and arguments, and reflects upon his personal and academic influence.
