Abstract

The essays hereby presented to the reader are profoundly, provokingly, persistently and proudly irresponsible. (The alliterations, I know! Shocking! And so brazen! And the exclamation marks! And what on earth is “confelicity”? Goodness me! What’s the world coming to? How much more nonsense can one tolerate?) Grouchy crapehangers, crabbit worrywarts, gloomy misanthropes and Saturnine philosophers, like all other human beings, are entitled to pen, or at least blurt, a relieving “blast-it-all”, once in a while, i.e., not just during the Middle Ages. Aren’t they? (Are they? I’m asking.)
