This event was organised as a Nordic–Baltic think tank focused on the role of meaning-making in educational leadership. Titled Leading Meaning, Not Just Institutions: What Are We Educating For – and Why Does It Matter?, the meeting created a forum for reflection, dialogue, and long-term thinking in higher education. The conceptual framework and thematic focus for the event were developed by the organiser, shifting attention from administrative management toward visionary and conceptual perspectives on education. The programme addressed how leadership decisions are shaped by broader societal conditions, including uncertainty, artificial intelligence, climate change, and geopolitical change.
The event brought together design education leaders and invited contributors from philosophy, science and technology, and literature, fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue on the values, purposes, and responsibilities of education today. The initiative contributed to ongoing discussions on educational leadership, future-oriented thinking, and the cultural and societal role of higher education.
