This project comprises a single-family house located in the coastal landscape of Höfn, Hornafjörður. The design emerges from a close reading of the site, shaped by strong prevailing winds, expansive views toward the sea and nearby glacier, and the distinctive chromatic qualities of the surrounding environment.
The architectural concept responds to these conditions through a compact and sheltered form, oriented to frame key views while mitigating exposure to harsh weather. Material choices and colour tones are informed by the natural context, referencing the deep hues of the ocean and the volcanic black sand beach. The house is conceived as a site-specific intervention that balances environmental responsiveness with a strong visual connection to the landscape.
